Lava Rock cooking

Was just recalling a few meals that were cooked in front of us at our table on a 12X12 or so Lava rock....

These were steaks primarily, but curious as to doing this at home...

Has anyone tried this way of cooking? I'm thinking it could be a pretty cool way of serving a meal...:.02:

Yes, they have a high "wow" factor, but just about it.
