After the hurricane and the 2 day power outage, my a/c unit wouldn't come on. I found a burnt inline glass fuse and changed it. It worked for a week and then repeated itself. Where should I start, any ideas ?

this is an old GE unit. approx 34 years old.

time to replace.
I just had a 25 year old GE replaced. The 2 day power outage from Rita will be only a small break from my $200+ power bills for cooling 1600sqft in gulf coast.

I am looking foward to the lower power bill with my new 14seer rheem. Also, lower noise, lights not flickering when compressor comes on, etc.

You could finance a new system and almost pay the monthly finance bill with the electricity $avings.
