I actually talked to Brenda the other day and she said the release of the AK is looking more like to be in the middle of august.

It's only one more month of waiting...hopefully lol She didn't sound to thrilled either cause it will getting toward the end of the busy season. But good things come to those who wait. And I know I'm going to purchase one.

On the plus side the reason called them was my temp clamps broke. Not only are they shipping me a new pair with bigger gauge wires but also a repair kit for my old ones. I am extremely pleased with their customer service and they have a Digi-Cool customer for life.

Mine are under warranty. This is the 2nd time I've had to replace them. I asked if they made any adjustments and Brenda said they make the wire gauge bigger. I don't know how much of an improvement they'll be. I'll let you know how it works out when I get them.

I too would be interested in a date and also what is the price range? Earlier in another post I read something about a manifold as well. I am green, having not graduated yet. Do you have to purchase a manifold for this gauge as well that is separate?

Buy the 1200 and never look back.

Reasons:

The 1600 doesn't have the 5 second and hold features. I didn't initially like these feastures, but I'm growing to. Particularly the HOLD feature for leak-down testing.

The 1200 has a single sensor. Less to tangle and get in your way and it still does SH/SC. As a refer guy, you're typically measuring one or the other, but not both. If you need both, then you move the sensor. Easy enough.

I do not have any sort of inside info on the release date for the AK, but it hasn't been announced yet. If you've got a derelict store that needs help, then you need a DRSA, now, not whenever.

I'd call DC directly and see if you can get Brenda or Doug to upgrade you to one of the clamp on probes. If you're going to be setting a lot of superheats, then moving a velcro probe around is going to be a royal PITA.

One thing occurred to me after posting that.

If a backlight is a feature that you would like to have, only the 1250 has that feature right now.

I would mount them on the yj titan 4 ports if your looking for a 4 port manifold that bolts right up the the dc without the 90's. i have mine on a set of m2 jb 2 ports right now. when the ak's come out they will be going on a 4 port manifold :.02:

Called digicool today and was told they have the ak-900 in but there waiting for it to be programed. It should be out in a couple weeks for just under 300.
