Hi All,

I decided to replace my 25 years old lennox furnace with a new system.
My options now is Bryant, Goodman or Termo Pride
One of the contractors (Termo Pride) advised me not to install high efficiency furnace due to the many problems with a motor that is used to output cold steam from the unit outside. He told me that he usually replaces a lot of them in High Eff. units.
He also told me that all the savings would go to pay higher maintenance of High Efficiency unit.
Bryant contractor told me that I can’t install High Efficiency unit because the wall that has all the utilities doesn’t have enough space for HE furnace output. He told me that according to the code the output can’t be installed under the window, and I have a kitchen window on the wall.

So I am thinking to go with 2 stage mid efficiency Bryant system

I have never heard anything about Termo Pride though.

Any advice?

Thanks,

Igor

Just wanted to add that I live in Toronto and we have pretty severe winters down here

Thermopride is the best built furnace on the market.

Both 80% and 90% furnaces have inducers, the part he's referring to. We have had no difference in failures between the 2. Our code says must be 1' from a window with direct vent furnaces. Can be below a window as long as that clearance is met. But that's here. And even more distance from meters so you could have a problem.

With a Canadian winter, I would think 90+ would be a wise move if it could possibly be done.
