I just had an Armstrong Compak 10 installed on my mother in law's house. It is a 10 seer roof mounted gas/electric unit. When I made the decision to buy it I was under the impression that I was buying a 12 seer unit made by Armstrong and did not know the particular model. A big dissapointment.
What can be said about the reliability/quality of Armstrong and this model? Can the reliablity/quality of Armstrong be compared to any other well known A/C manufacturers?

What did the contract call for? The 10 & 12 SEER units are identical except for efficiency.
We've installed a few, no problems.

New Stand, new unit to duct adapter and thermostat for $..... I hope that was what you were asking for.

So the contract called for a Compak 10? But you were expecting a 12 SEER? If they gave a model #, it would tell you what SEER it is.

The contract did not list a model. Only Armstrong 3.5 ton unit.

I had asked the salesman over the phone if the price quoted to me was for a 12 seer and his answer was yes. After the instalation was complete he has no recalection of the conversation. I don't have a leg to stand on with the vague discription of the unit in thier proposal.
