Just installed a Goodman system. 13 seer CLT48 condensor & AEPT060 air handler.

PROBLEM: Air Handler is mounted vertically. There is a 1/2 inch crack on one of the inside corners of the PLASTIC condensation pan! When you look from underneith you can see the hairline crack. It lets out 1 drip every 2 seconds.

What to do?? Is there an affective way of repairing it from underneith?
Would a torch melt it together?
How about epoxy?
I'd rather not have to rip it out & replace it but I want it to last 20 years!!

PLEASE Help.
Steve from NY

and you are going to patch a new unit that you just put in?

I would first look for other possible damage. It is unusual to have a cracked drain pan, especially a horizontal one, unless there was shipping damage to the unit.

What's the problem with just going to your distributor and getting another pan?

I'd call the guy I bought it from over the internet and tell him you need a new pan. Of course, you will have to pay freight, both ways in order to get any warranty parts.

Hi Guys,

I was just freekin' out last night. It was a long day! We were able to lift the core up & slide a new pan in without having to discharge it. Thanks....
