Here is my problem and sequence of events. Lennox unit about 6 years old. Went out of town, when I returned, outside compressor was running, but blower/fan was not running. So house was not cooling. Outside line at Compressor was frozen at bottom due to continual running. Turns out it was the circuit board on the fan unit that went out and this was replaced. There was a little spot on the circuit board that was burned. But, I think something else also got messed up when the circuit board fried. When the HVAC guy turned it on, the blower fan would not come on at first. He redid the wiring and then it worked. However, I don’t believe the blower is running at high speed when on AC. When it comes on, it has the same sound now as when you turn the heat on. The fan speed seems to be running the same on AC as it is on heat. And it used to be louder around the intake where inside air gets sucked up or whatever it is called. Also, my condensation drains through a pipe that routes down through my master bathroom sink. When the AC is on, I used to always hear a gurgling noise in the sink when it was running indicating the condensation was draining there. Now, that noise is completely gone. And the overflow plan is dry. I know my house and its noises and what it used to sound like, and I just know something is not right about it.
I called another HVAC company to check wiring on the circuit board and it is hooked up correctly. Wires going to cool and heat are correct. Is there something else that could have gone out. Could the blower motor have gotten fried somewhere too so that it is only blowing at medium speed even though it is on AC? Why is my draining noise gone? Any ideas of what this could be would be appreciated.

did 2nd co check to see what speed unit was using for a/c?
unit could have leadless motor with plug onto motor that was adjusted. why didn't you have original co return? tech could have found unit running on to high of a speed for a/c unit and changed blower speed.

Your draining noise will occur once enough condensation is built up in your drainpan to drain.Did you tell the sound issue to the techs? Was the board replaced with the exact same one? If a multi-speed fan, should be easy to correct.

First company was a friends HVAC company. He did not adjust fan speed - all he did was change out the circuit board. I expressed all of the above, but he was adament nothing was wrong, that it was hooked up correctly. Have tried, but haven't been able to get him to come back. So that is when I called second company. Could it be the fan and could running on a lower speed cause it not to drain like it used to?

IF fan is on lower speed it may not be blowing air out drain like it used to. drain should be silent. probably draining better than it did before. is unit working ok?

Unit seems to be working fine...just different.

My concern is that for whatever reason the AC seems to be running on a lower speed than it used to and that if something else is screwed up it might be a problem later.

I just went to the attic and looked at the drain pipe for the condensation. The one that drains to the bathroom sink which is where it normally goes is open and you can look down into the pipe and see that nothing is dripping. However it is not dripping out of the second pipe down into the overflow pan. So it isn't draining anywhere...or much...mch slowe because you can't even see it drain. Couls this be that the blower fan is running on a slower speed? Please give me some ideas of what this could be.
