View Full Version : A Coil for a Trane XE80/XE1000

Good morning. Friday night everything seemed to be working but no air was coming from my vents to cool the house. The outside unit appeared to be functioning as well as the inside unit but the upper half of the inside unit was sweating and very cold. I turned it off and let it thaw and tried again with the same results. I had a company come in and check it out and he said my Acoil was leaking freon. They are supposed to call me with an estimate tomorrow but I was wondering what one could expect to pay for an Acoil? The outside unit is an XE1000, the inside unit is an XE80. It is 11 years old. Thanks.

With my magic eyes, I still can't see the job nor know the dealer's costs so can't help you on the price.
Make sure they use a matching TXA or TXH coil.

I understand. Just didn't know if there was a ballpark figure. Another question, based on the age, is this a smart move?

Even in our own market, prices vary greatly between 1 man firms working from their garage to the established companies with plenty of overhead.
