My "ex" in-laws bought a 2 stage bryant 90+ furnace a couple of years ago.
I just moved back in to the area and they asked me to check it out and wondered why they couldn't turn the fan on from the vision pro stat they have. well. . . .
They had 4-wire stat wire. New wire could have (and has since been by me) pulled. Only 2 wires were used. R and W1. No common was used for the stat. The G wasn't hooked up, neither was 2nd stage heat. The condensate pump safety switch also was not hooked up! MY GOD!
Needless to say, I have corrected all of these problems and they love their system now.
Please, you techs, DON'T BE HACKS!!!

hummmm your calling me a hack for not hooking up the condensate pump cut out wires. To be honest we never have used them. would rather have a leak then house freeze up in the winter if owners are not in town. Thats just my opinion tho but you act like they would die from it lol. I guess I would like to hear from others in cold parts of the country if they use the safety on the condensate pumps. I can see it more where its hot all the time but being I flush them out every p.m. I havnt had much trouble with them.

Maybe they dont need the second stage heat.....lol. Also most people dont use the fan on a heating only unit.

No need for the common wire for the stat either, eh?

Oh yeah, I guess they would rather have their basement soaked than have their house freeze (in an area where it rarely gets below 30).

well here most mechanical rooms have a floor drain. Not that all of the floors slope towards them lol. those pipes freeze you will have a worse flooded basement and everywhere else leaking. This aint florida toto.

Address this to the installer of the equipment & not every one else in the world.

The 2 wires for the safety on the pump look pretty if you tie them in a bow...

ok, so hacks dont hook up the safety wires on the pump, they dont use the 2nd stage heat, probably on a single stage furnace, and they dont hook up the common, because most manufacturers have a common on the "board"?

well, hack me up then.

glad you "fixed" it for them, and now they love their unit.

Around here we don't risk freezing the pipes by wiring the switch in.

The vision pro doesn't need a common.

Would have been better if they had wired it up for 2 stage.

Without the common the stat runs on batteries only. Why the hell not do it right?
