Discharge Sensor Failure Code 6

My York heat pump is 5 yrs old. Lately...about once a week the red EM light blinks 6 times and the heat pump stops running. My manual shows code 6 is "Discharge Sensor Failure". I turn off the thermostat, and the fuse box power. I turn it back on and it works good for about a week. What could be causing this?

I'd guess discharge sensor failure, or something along those lines. Find a York dealer and have them take a look. That unit isn't the space shuttle, but it still has some stuff that you don't regularly deal with on other brands.

Out of all the thermistors on york units the discharge senser fails the most. Easily diagnosed & repaired.(depending on the techs skill level)

Also the unit could be saying help me I got issues. Freon leak or other issues.
