what is the charging calculation formula used when 25 feet pre-charged line set R-22 is extended to 50 feet ?
how much more refrigerant needed to the additional 25 feet line set without refrigerant in it ?

What type of metering device?
What are the indoor conditions, outdoor conditions?
Type of refrigerant doesn't matter.

Not to mention what is the line set size!

3/8 liquid and 7/8 suction with TXV. there is no mention indoor/outdoor condition. but i guest will be standard design temperature 95*outdoor and 75* indoor 50% RH
I had a test question a month ago that i can't find the answer in my book.

I'm sorry, I misread the question.
This is actually a queston regarding the volume added to the lineset and the density of the refrigerant.
The BEST way to correctly charge a unit is to use superheat or subcooling depending on the metering device.
