I found a leak on a-coil that could easily fix without replacing. So I abrased pin hole and pressure tested with a trace of freon and nitrogen (150 psi). So with that in the system I decided to double check with leak detector and once again leak detector went off like there was a leak but no drop in pressure. I am just wondering if leak detector is still picking up from previous leak. And second since the weather is not to bad around here this time of year I asked the homeowner if could leave system off and leave the pressure on til tomorrow morn. Do you think that there will be a change in pressure left on system because of the differances in climate ( 85 deg. when pressurized and around 65 - 70 deg. in the morning?

You have allready spent to much time on it. Replace it and be done with it.

I'd think it would depend on how much freon you have in the coil, but I still wouldn't expect it to drop much. If it has dropped more than a few pounds I'd suspect another leak.

Pin hole leaks usually run in multiples due to formicary corrosion or moisture left in coil during installation.

Best to replace.
