Hello all

I was just checking the Internet and I haven't found any Touchscreen HMI controllers that will work with a Lon system.

Does anyone know a website or if there is such a device on the market?
My idea is to install a Touchscreen for a Lon system so setpoints and sched. can be changed. Much in the same way as as Trane does with the new Tracker V12 system.

Thanks for the help in advance.

I assume you definetly need a "Touch Screen", I think you will have hard time finding such device.

There are a few regular LCDs with buttons that more readily available.

But for touch screen may be look inhere:

Touch Screen (http://www.telda.co.kr/sub2_01_10.htm)

Not too easy to configure.

Hello Amigo

Thanks for the fast response. Here is the story I was recommended from a friend to call a guy who needed some work on his system. This was a Residential call and I told my friend I only do Commercial/Industrial work my friend said to "Please call him he can't find anyone to work on his system", so I said OK, let me call him. I started talking to him and found out that he had a very large house 5,000 plus sq' He had called many Residential shops any they had no idea what to do because he had a Commercial setup in his house. The other Commercial shops will not stop over to see it he told me. I told him I really don't do Residential but this is something I have to see. I will be stopping over there on Sat. he has, from what I was told 4 or 5 Air Handlers with Hot water coils, and what he said was 3 way valves (135 ohm drives) and Honeywell T921D T-stats.

Also he said his boilers have Outdoor Air Reset and a dedicated system for the Snow melt loop.

Like I said I will stop over there Sat. to see this. I started talking about Lon systems with him and he has altready started doing some research on it. He wants to remove all the analog controls, from what I know so far, and go digital.

So I like to do alittle "Pre meeting thinking" and was thinking of using "Circon" Fan Coil unit controller, Control Solutions "ValuPoint-M" for the boiler, and Viconics "T7600 LonTalk" Thermostats / with 7 day schedules.

BUT if I use the T7600 t-stat it will defeat the schedule ability in the "Circon" controls.

So I figure if I get basic "Bapi" stats for room temp and setpoints for zones, and a touchscreen for schedules this will be a better system.

I do not or think the customer will want to start up his Laptop to change the schedules or view system perameters.

I guess I will learn more on Sat.

Core,

Bear in mind that the Circon controller does NOT have battery back up for the clock, you really a device on the system that maintains the time, an iLON100 would do the trick if you are thinking about web access. Then if you have web control, do you really need the touch screen?

Just my 2 cents worth on your ideas.

ilon100 is less expensive than touchscreens and gives you a RNI, scheduling, trending and alarming.

EDIT - I've got this wrong - I was thinking LCD screens. My apologies. Anyway - you could probably use anyones software or an ilon100 and Ethernet to a standard touchscreen from 3M (or wherever) If you want something smaller than probably Telda as they have some LON stuff.

Engenuity had a German made one that seemed solid.

TAC makes a touch screen - it just came out this summer. I haven't used it yet so I can't give any input.

Then do a search on the TAC OP1500.
