I live in a Condo which makes it extremely difficult to replace the lineset, without ripping a wall apart. Is there anyway for me as an owner to determine if the present lineset is the correct size to be able to accommodate R410 without calling a company to determine that for me?
Thanks

You really need a tech to come out as there is a little more to line set sizes! What size system, what is the rise, what is the length total, and what system? Just some questions you will need to no before determining the size.

You can measure the suction and pressure line diameter at the air handler or condenser. It should be the same diameter throughout. Then you need to check that the size you have will work with whatever new system you want to have installed. Make sure they flush out the lineset thoroughly if you re-use it.

I would like to point out that R 22 units are now available again. This helps people in our situation (I live in a condo also).
R 22 units are shipped empty, so that adds extra cost to the customer making it about the same price as the R 410 A system, but it may be the best option for you.
I would not worry about R 22 being available to you if your system needed a charge, I believe there is enough R 22 around to outlast the new system you would be installing.

Flush it with what?
To my knowledge there's Not Any Manufacturers Suggesting Using A Flush, only Nitrogen.
Call a Professional and they'll evaluate what you have and will gladly suggest what will work.

Flush it with what?
R(X)-11, R-22, and/or nitrogen. Definitely nitrogen if nothing else.

I've had Lennox Factory Tech suggest flushing a really bad burnout with R-22 but that's the Only "Flush" besides blowing the line-set with Nitrogen.
