Well, I can vouch for Trane XV 90 as being one of the quietest systems I've installed, and I've installed just about every brand out there.

If you can't run the PVC for a 90% the XV80 is also pretty darn quiet.

Are you a contractor?

If so, what brand do you sell?

And why not install a brand that you are familiar with?

Just because you are familiar with a brand, It does not make it the best.

I'll be damned if I would sell one brand and install another in my home.

Why not sell the equipment that you feel is the best?
(that is if your are the one in control)

It would be nice to have the part that was needed on a cold winter night, if something should happen. ;)

Can't say I've installed or ever worked on the G61mpv though, so don't know. Only G40 & 50... piece of crap :D

jultz If I think Trane is the best brand, and the customer cant afford it. Should I tell them to call someone else?

The best thing for that customer is what
he can afford and something reliable.

As for me the best unit would be the quietest or my wife will continue to nag me.

No, that's the reason (I hope) that you carry two brands now.

I just don't understand WHY you wouldn't offer what you thought was the best as your high-end equipment.
(unless it's not your decision)

Dude, your an HVAC contractor, so am I, I have the top of the line equipment with all the goodies that come with, installed by me in my house. Being a contractor, you should be able to get the equipment at half cost if it's for personal use, you might wanna switch brands.
