What does the "SmartEvap" feature do that the Thermidistat does not do by itself with older model furnaces?
In the Bryant mid-line Preferred Series gas furnace, The Plus 80t Model 312, the control board does SmartEvap, as quoted from the on-line, .pdf document:
"As a part of your year-round comfort system, the Plus 80t can work with our optional Thermidistat TM Control to better monitor and maintain proper humidity levels. When humidity rises during cooling operation, the Plus 80t kicks into “high gear” to remove excess moisture. For even greater humidity control, our SmartEvap TM feature helps the Plus 80t reduce humidity by an additional 10% over a standard system."
My son has a Bryant dealer's proposal for the 80v Model 315A furnace, but this lesser model seems to be a possible option to consider. There is no mention of this feature in the 80v.
Thank you,
Al
