I bought a new House in 2002. It has a Carrier Puron System installed. It is leaking ever since I moved in. The company who installed it, showed up 4 imes since then and found/fixed small leakes. It is now a little over a Year since their last service and the system loses Perfomance again. The supply air Temprature rose from 57F to 68F over a short period of time. Are these systems prone to leak or are the technicians of my this company not up to par to do the job?
Any Help appreciated, thanks

They are not prone to leaks. It sounds like you have a service company that does not know what they are doing. It might be wise to make sure the evaporator coil is compatable with your condensor. All the freon needs to be recovered and the system needs to be checked for leaks. A vacume needs to be pulled useing a micron gauge to make sure there are no leaks. Sounds like this company may not be pulling an adequit vacume or there was some novice welding going on.

They are not prone to leaks, they may be adding refrigerant and not finding the "real" leak. This usually happens when it's busy and someone doesn't want to take the time.

I'd call the service manager ,and discuss your concerns and any paid invoices, and see if they can do a more through leak search,etc..

dash is correct in his comments. The leak must be repired and all 410 A must be recovered first. The proper vaccum must be pulled and nitro pressure test to insure NO more leakie before recharged.
