I few weeks back I applied online for several jobs online via indeed.com one of them was for a service tech job working on kitchen systems reach in and walk ins as well as the dishwashers and ranges it seems form the job description.
I received a call from an HR guy at Ecolabs we arranged to do an over the phone interview. My question is does anyone work for this department of Ecolabs and what generally is done while on the job?I did some basic research online and some employees in various departments at Ecolab said it was a good company others not so much. Can anyone on here give me some insight about Ecolab?
I also am waiting for a call from a college that is looking for an HVAC maintenance mechanic the job sounds very good and I meet the educational and experience requirements based on my schooling, HVAC jobs that I have helped on and my military service experience in maintenance of various systems including A/C units and I enjoy this type of work true full time maintenance. The application period for this job just closed on Friday so I may have to wait a few days to hear anything but for some reason I feel really good about this opportunity.I am a realist at the same time and dont want to put all my eggs in one basket and also found two other institutional HVAC maintenance jobs that I meet the reqs for.
This type of job is much more attractive to me as I am not much of a salesman and fear that I will not perform well in this area at a service company where sales is part of the job.At the same time any job is good experience and I have no idea how long the college will take in its selection process(might be days might be weeks)
I dont want to wait for something unknown and miss another job opening what would be the proper thing to say to the Ecolabs HR person over the phone?
I guess what I am trying to ask is should I go with my "heart"(I feel that I should) and mainly apply for institutional HVAC maintenance slots? I have a friend that owns an ACE Hardware Store that I can work for while I look for such work so I do not need a job to eat so to speak which gives me the benefit of being able to wait a few months if needed to find the best opportunity available.
Thanks much for any advice/ideas.
