I am installing comfortview(v3.0) on a newly formated {winXP}system. prior to this comfortview(v2.0) was running on a win98 system, they lost the access key, which brings me to my question. I have loaded the software on the 2nd machine and will be Importing the database once I'v Exported it from the 1st computer. Do I still need to setup equipment parameters or will they be uplaodable from the controller? I'll admit I still have some reading to do but I figured why not post this and see if I could catch some useful information. Thanks in advance for any replys

If you exported the Database from CView 2.0 then yes the you can import directly into CView 3.0 as it is fully backward compatible.
If you upload the controllers from the network and the network has the old FID processors then as the FID processors didn't have the capacity to store point descriptions and names onboard you could lose them.
Another note is that if the system has any BEST or BEST++ programs then an export doesn't export these. You will have to copy the BPP folder from CView 2.0 to the same location on CView 3.0, or you can upload the programs from the controllers.
Hope that helps you out thtech
