1) Direct connect to an N-30 with Procomm plus on Windows XP

2) New USB to serial adaptor using port # 4

3) Tried different ports and another USB adaptor
Procomm only shows I am connected only if I use Port # 4

Cannot configure the USB/Serial adaptor to another port because ProComm will not connect using any other port

4) Can send data to the N-30
SD modem light flickers when I hit any key

5) Screen is blue not receiving any data from N-30
RD Modem light does not flicker at all

6) Baud rate and settings are good

Is there a good Procomm plus website other than PC SEmantics

Thank You

Dave,
I think i would set up a hardware profile disabling everything else that is occupying com1 and com2. Then boot up in that profile and try to use procomm plus through one of these ports.(via USB)

i dont understand why but USB is not rs-232 friendly for what ever reason it may be. not to say you cant talk rs-232 through USB its been done alot but it seems to be very cumbersome every time to get it off and running (its never as easy as plug and play)

one other thing if you buy usb to serial converters save yourself the time and aggrivation and get them from B&B Electronics they are dedicated to serial communications even in todays times of eathernet and arcnet etc etc...

good luck

Allen
