New to the board so correct me if I'm on the wrong one.Moving to Florida(Pompano) after 25 yr career in Acctg. Looking to go to an accelerated 8 week class @ South Florida Academy of A/C. Is it a good school to attend or look elsewhere.Liked the 8 week part the best.How much more will I need in further certifications after that?

I wouldn't trust any 8 week program. There is a reason why employers want 5 yrs or more of experience. There is alot to learn and its always changing. I think it is schools like that that are part of the problem with our trade it turns out techs that really don't know what they are doing and thats why there is so many happy customers.

If you are interested in learning the business go to a college,real trade school, or try to get an apprenticeship or start out as a install helper and go to school at night.
