I have a 65mbtu olsen natural gas unit heater. M/N-KAS-65.
This unit currently has 4 burners with # 48 orfices. I want to change unit over to propane and cannot purchase new orfices, as our codes here in Ontario will not allow sale of conversion kits unless someone from our ministry diagnosis it for a fee of $275.00 plus mileage. This unit is for personal use, can anyone tell me how to do the conversion for the correct size propane orfice. I would like to know bit size, as I will have to fill and re-drill.

Thanks.

Not quite as easy as just resizing orifice(s). Control must be altered or replaced. If it has a standing pilot it must be addressed also. In the name of safety spend the money to have someone experienced do the conversion. Have seen many conversions screwed up and producing c.o

You should contact the manufacturer of the unit for the proper components to perform conversion. Typically involves changing burner orifices, regulator spring and if applicable the pilot orifice. Then using a manometer set discharge side of valve to proper pressure for propane.
