Copeland Digital Scroll Failures

Seems all of a sudden (in the past month) we are seeing multiple compressor failures on digital scrolls on different jobs, all Aaon equipment. Anyone else experiencing this ?

We had 6 Aaon heat pumps installed last summer with digital scrolls. Four out of the six compressors failed within a week of startup. According to the factory rep the accumulators were piped backwards, and the failure was due to no oil returning to the compressors. Aaon sent two guys down who repiped the accumlators and replaced the compressors. No problems since.

Were these split system heat pumps or packaged units?

The ones I had were package RTU's

I am seeing both packaged units from the Aaon Tulsa factory and Chillers from their Longview factory.
