What is your best tricks for changing the oil inside a "pot" compressor?
Fractional horse pots which are easy to get to ... and pots which are buried deep....
All the way up to larger hermetic pots which are "1 cover, 2 welds, 3 wires & 4 bolts" away from coming out and being handled any which way you want them.

Using a torch, cut them in half, lengthwise. Drain the oil from both halves, throw in dumpster, buy new.:D:D:D
What'd I win??:p

slacker!!! what are YOU doing home in the middle of the afternoon on a weekday???
I know why I am here ... but it's very unusual to find you any where near here at this time of day.
( I like your answer though. I have often considered it myself)
the whole reason I am asking certain questions right now is to generate activity which will enlighten the guys who are new to the trade.
And to dispell some ol wives tales which some seasoned guys may be holding onto.
Plus ... with the responces thus far ... I am learning a thing or two myself.
Gee, I wish I could get paid to do something like this ... it's simply too hot to go outside right now for very long.:D
