Just bought a Seattle Sombrero.
I'll give you a review after I've used it for a while.
I have a mesh top, wide brimmed hat that is nice in the summertime, too.

Tilley T2 is the best for all-around working outside. Mine is about 15 years old and looks every bit of its age; therefore, it's for wear only at home now... I gotta buy another one. I have the small brim (forget the number) and the shaped brim one (again number???) and the T-2 is my favorite even though it has stains, paint drips, frayed spots, and a permanent sweat-stain-band that won't wash out. I've tried on their T1, and the brim's too dang big.
Also the T2 has snaps on the brim so you can get the sides up out of the way occasionally. (That also helps give the brim a little bit of a "set".) The brims really do get stiffer when wet, and it sheds off an amazing amount of rain. Stick a $50 in the hidden pocket and forget it's there until an emergency arises.
The small brim hat is good for driving and for throwing in a backpack or suitcase. It doesn't keep the sun off your neck worth beans.:grin2:

go to your local army surplus tore and get a Boonie hat.
Worked great for me in the desert and is what i wear now but in a snow camo pattern.

Quick update on the Seattle Sombrero.
Very nice, comfortable hat. Waterproof.
Also quite warm for summer wear.
If you sweat heavily like I do and are looking for a hat as a means to keep cool, look elsewhere.
Otherwise, it's great.

Might look at the selection at Duluth Trading Company. http://www.duluthtrading.com/store/clothes-workwear/mens/hats-and-caps-for-men/hats-and-caps-for-men.aspx (http://www.duluthtrading.com/store/clothes-workwear/mens/hats-and-caps-for-men/hats-and-caps-for-men.aspx)
I especially like the FDR Summer Hat and/or The Crusher....

I wear an Australian leather outback hat. You can sit on it and it will come back into shape. Good for sun and rain. Something similar like this one, without the mesh. That mesh will make it even better.

A straw hat is your best bet for beating the summer heat. Many styles available....

i ended up going to bass pro and found a nice flat brim hat (3") with mesh in the top. it was 25 bucks, so it was cheap. i wore it today and it worked great. i suppose its a fancy straw hat.

I just got this one, it is light, and does not make your head sweat, the wide brim covers you up pretty good on them hot sunny roofs. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000O5YT7G
