Those slide charts will probably do you just fine. As long as they have the refrigerants you need. Lots of times the only ones the distributor carries are freebies that manufacturers put their logos on. Those are fine as well, but that's why they don't typically sell them or have them in stock if you did want to buy them.
We (Fieldpiece) have a psychrometer coming out in about a month that will have a thermistor on a wand that you can stick inside of a duct. Or you can use it outside the duct as well. I don't have all the specific info yet but keep it in mind as you are looking.

you'll generally get the sliders when you attend mfg training
just ask for PT chart at parts house, you just have to understand how to
use them and what they are telling you

alright, now I got a woody
still use the mercury bulb sling (you tree huggers, keep your pie holes shut)
I might have to invest in a new sling ( another tool that doesn't get used that often- at least it'll be easier to hide from the wifey)

We are soon to release our new Exactcharge Superheat/Subcooling/PT Calculator for the iPhone.
We have modified it with less and larger keys and now the user selects one of 28 refrigerants from a second screen which allows for working in one PT correlated chart without any refrigerant type re-entry until another refrigerant is selected thus making it more user friendly.
I am expecting it will be released in about 2 weeks.

I have those charging charts and they are nice.
As for a psychrometer the Testo 605-H2 is nice. Runs about $125. I would get that one or see what Fieldpiece has coming up.

I understand. Just so you know, the software app does not require a data package.
I run mine on an iTouch with all my music on it.

Probably a few free charging charts on the net.
Might not be some fancy slide chart but at least you could print up a few copies and maybe laminate one or two.
