bringing fireworks? I was thinking of making some small "pipebombs" to throw into the harbor and I'll just sneak them in my carry-on luggage.

Just a little thing to think about; There is a World Trade Center building across the street from the hotel :D

A few miles south of Baltimore is Fort Meade, home of the NSA (No Such Agency). Just north of Baltimore is Edgewood arsenal and Aberdeen Proving grounds where agent orange and mustard gases were stored and tested till a few years ago. Camp David is about an hour and half northwest and Andrews Air Force Base (home of Air Force One) is about an hours drive southeast. Then of course there is the District of Columbia 40 miles away.

Do you really want to draw attention to yourself with fireworks or pipebombs?

I have enough trouble remembering to take my pocketknife out before I fly.

I knew it was a joke. The last time I lost a knife to the airport security I was flying to Cuba of all places.

I took plenty of shampoos, soaps, writing paper, pencils, pens etc. These items I left for those who work in the hotel. It is amazing how wonderfully the Cuban people accept how they must live day to day. Those Cubans that have accepted their Communist rule and utilize the black market to better themselves have my full respect.

When Castro dies, Cuba is going to blossom like no other country the world has seen in decades. In a way it will be a bad thing for how wonderful the Cuban people are. They will no doubt be changed by sudden freedoms and abilities to buy and own what they want.
