Doing some market research and the breadth of knowledge/experience here on the forum is far and wide, so I wanted to know who had heard of IEC 61499 anywhere other then here on HVAC-Talk.
If you have actually used it please indicate the system/brand that it was deployed with.

BTW I had never heard of it before HVAC-Talk and started the voting as such.

I heard Siemens were moving toward tying their DDC to their PLC ... and using it.
...I wonder how open it will be after that?

For the purposes of this poll- is Sedona to be considered a subset of IEC 61499?

If you knew it was connected to IEC 61499 and what EIC 61499 is then yes, if you had just heard of Sedona, Prescott or Flagstaff then no.

I personally didn't know but I thought heading off that question was warranted.

Yeah, knew about it before it was mentioned here. I think, kind of hard to remember for sure.
However, I also hang around some industrial control forums and sites. (Used to be a process control/PLC type; we have an industrial controls group within the company for whom I work; so I try to stay at least a little familiar with things in that world.)
Know a bit about it, just from reading, as concerns its goals and proposed methodologies.
I'm not aware of any big rush by any of the major manufacturer's to fully embrace it.
