Has anyone ever used this with silfos, and silver? What results did you get?
Is it worth investing in?
Thanks

It works fine.
I keep a propane bottle and regulator on the truck for when the acetylene bottle runs out halfway through the last joint...
It weighs alot less than a second acet cylinder, costs less too.

Never tried it, But i got an adapter on order that allows you to use propylene (formally MAPP gas) with a regular acetylene regulator and oxy/acetylene setups.

Burns hotter than propane but not quite as hot a acetylene.

You can get the stuff anywhere, its lighter than accetylene, possible a little cheaper and safer.
But may not cut the mustard, i think its just one of those things you gotta try and see if it works for you.

Outta the victor: cutting, heating & welding guide
oxy acetelyene neutral flame temp 5720°
oxy propylene neutral flame temp 5240°

Use it with a bigger tip and you will be fine. Rosebud or welding tip instead of brazing tip.

If you use propane with a 1# tank, check this out it's refillable
