Any good reading on refrigeration?
Having trouble with bringing over my knowledge of Air Cond.
to the colder side of things.
I'm one for superheat, subcool, so on and so forth.
When setting up a TXV I replaced today, I asked what the
subcool/superheat and all that was supposed to run on
a walk in cooler (I'm new to the refrigeration side of things) and was told not to worry bout subcool and don't worry about the sight glass not full.
I felt like a fish outta water.
I fine tuned it according to the way I was told....
get the saturation temp to be just above freezing when it approaches cooler setpoint of 39
But I wanna know the way its done by the book.
It may be that he didn't wanna go into the correct way since we do have more probs with the system... so I don't wanna knock my boss just yet hehe.
I did find that we have some missing armoflex causing a 20 degree rise between the evap and compressor.... amazing what 5 ft of bare suction line can do in an attic.
