I am using an NAE to control an N2 trunk, for most of the hvac system, and also a Lon trunk with Triatek controllers for some VAVs w/ reheats. I am very far away from the jobsite, and haven't worked on Lon EVER, so it makes it a real pain. I have MCL tool, a lon PCMCIA card, and that's it... I have briefly spoken with a few people and hunted through whatever tech manuals i could find, and feel like i'm missing something.
I had the Triatek guy send me some files, .xif, xfb, xfo, and .apb, but it doesn't look like it's enough to make anything happen in MCL or SCT.. maybe i'm just looking in the wrong spot, or need some more software. Anybody out there with experience adding a lon trunk to an NAE? If you have done it and have a few pointers or a good resource to tap i would really appreciate it.

I feel your pain, You will need to set DNS numbers with mcl tool, which is Domain, subnet, node. Once setup NAE's dont self discover 3rd party LON stuff (Or at least I have had no luck yet) All lon devices have a (service pin) push button (sometimes hidden and you need lit on device) once NAE is online and wired with terminators, you push (service Pin) then NAE will see lon devices if Domains set correctly.
I may have missed a few details, but im pretty drunk. But as with anything new with JCI, You(me) are R&D. Good Luck.

oh ya you have to add the .XIF .TYP etc files in the NAE resource tab for lontrunk. Not only do you need the file from vendor , but you need 2 from JCI as well. So there will be at least a total of three recource files per trunk.

Thanks metasys man, i'll look into that next time i'm at that job-site. I also recently heard there are going to be some lon/mcl tool integration changes when 2.0 Meta**** Extended Architecture comes out(next week i think)and I hope that will make things a bit easier...

Just finished a job on Rel. 1.2.
Integrated 25 TAC Xenta 102-AX Actuators.
Went pretty well after I remembered to add the default SNVT resource files and got the upto date XIF.
I was able to do bindings and use some LCT to control the VAV's with the AHU's & UNT's.
I was rather impressed with the ease. Took some time to change all the extensions on the LON equipment to US extensions. But that is what Mass edit is for.
