Are there any sites available that focus on finding a replacement for copper in the HVAC arena? I am specifically looking at finding a replacement for the discharge line off the compressor. These are industrial units from 20-130T.
Thanks

These are large commercial HVAC units and they have a large amount of copper in them. Since copper is so expensive , I am looking into ways of removing it from the units.

Schedule 10 stainless, I got approval to use from Trane on an air cooled remote evaporator installation. Project did not happen. the pipe was going to be welded and cleaned as required. The weight is comparable to copper and the price was only $5.00 per foot above schedule 40 black pipe. something to consider.

Many of older low temp condensing units had steel tubing in-between the discharge and the condenser. In the past I brazed in many a brake line from the local auto parts store to repair a low temp skid.
