Outdoor heat pump not working

I am just wondering what could be wrong. My upstairs unit automatically kicked into emergency heat, and the outdoor heat pump unit doesnt seem to be working. I'm pretty sure the A/H is pushing air. What could it be?

check your breakers then thermostat then call a pro if its still not working

Could be any one of a number of things, too many to post. Gonna have to make a call for a tech.
