York YK seal question.

I installed the latest and greatest York seal today in a 134A chiller and spun the compressor by hand and it felt tighter than the old one that came out.Is this normal when a new seal is installed or could something have happened.

Hey AC, don't know if this is what you are looking for; after replacing my last York seal I could barely turn the compressor over by hand. Ran the oil pump in manual mode........no difference. Started chiller up and the seal is still tight.......been over a year now and this chiller runs all winter.

Cool, thanks.I did the same with the oil pump but it was all I could do to turn it over by hand and it didn't make a difference with the pump on manual.At least oil was not pissing out so that was a good sign, will fire it off tomorrow.

Yes it will be much tighter.
