Have you heard? Distec has signed a deal with Tridium! I guess LNS has not done for them what they exspected! So lets see, off the top of my head the list reads;
Distec
Honeywell
Siemens
Invensys
Carrier
Who's next?

Possibly Distech doesn't have the capital or the engineering staff to make their own front end serve multiple protocols.
I would also think that Tridium isn't the only solution they have. Just for the legacy as LNS is for Lonworks.
Although, changes are coming in regards to what even Echelon products can do in regards to Tridium.
Tridium meanwhile, is utilizing a company to help improve their LON in particular because their current offering is rather anemic.
Anyway, your LNS commentary is way out in left field.

Distech added on Tridium because they want to sell more controllers.
All Invensys boys and other Tridium dealers wanted to use their VAV-L units and EC-Displays but did not have the wizards or shadow objects.
So Distech said: hey we can do that, so EC-Net was born.
So the 2 tier approach starts, and as long as they sell their products Distech will push both LNS and Tridium.
