Lennox vs Whirlpool

I am afraid I have researched myself into a frenzy!! Trying to weigh out all the different mfg., compressors, sizes and efficiency ratings as well as contractors is making me nuts! I have finally decided on the contractor and narrowed the mfg. down to these 2. Any plus or minus info would be greatly appreciated!! A little house info, 1675 sqft. single level horribly insulated in Spring TX., O.A.T. is near or at the century mark and the inside of the house is 80 deg. UGH!! Thanks for this fantastic forum in advance!!

stop stressing they are both good units and good with the contractor you feel the most comfortable with

Armstrong makes Whirlpool, Lennox owns Armstrong. That would be any relationship between Lennox & Whirlypool. I'd skip builder Lennox but between better Lennox & Whirlpool, go for the best dealer. Whirlpool doesn't have some of the high end stuff but in bread & butter units, they compete just fine.
