A walk-in box with two gravity coils. Before adding 409a cleaned the condenser coil with cond.cleaner.Condenser in basement 82*F.By the time I filled the sight glass pressures went up to 240/35.Recovered the ref.charged new 409a same thing. Thus box not going below 52*F.Pressures are supposed to be around 180/12 right? Can the syntethic alchaly oil be waxed in the condenser coil?

What kind of Compressor are you running?
if its a discus you may have a bad discharge
valve and needa new valve plate. If it is pull the head
and take a look at the rings around the discharge valves
check the tension on each of them they should all be
the same.Copeland had a bad run of these about 5 years ago.

That mat be something to check for as long as you know the
systen ran before and your not the first one looking at the unit, someone else may have screwed it up

if its in a basement you need to be damn sure you have
proper ventalation, you won't condense if your not removing
some of the air from the basement, check for an exhaust system somwhere

It`s hermatic.Anyway today when I went to that store the owner was all smiles.I checked the pressures again at 38*F box temperature.185/23.
