Fan Coil Thermostat Wiring

Hey Guys,
Trying to figure out the easiest way to explain how wiring will differ between conventional/heat pump thermostats and fan coil thermostats.

With manufacturers all using different wire color methods- how does one identify the 3 extra fan speed wires that clearly differentiate this type of thermostat from the others?

what speeds on the stat are you shure .please give m# mybe you mean letter s conv. stat 5 wire with com hp 6or 7 please supply more info colors .are basic in the industry most of the time except when one breaks and when some ome uses what ather is on the truck ; also depending how many stages .
