So I went on a call 8 months ago for a walk in cooler, lady just bought the business and box was freezing everything. No thermostat, pressure control only. Install a t-stat, box is fine till yesterday, flowers in the box froze up. So shes yelling at me that it's all my fault, I of course tell her I would gladly replace the tstat if thats the prob, I get there and the box is about 50 but the water in the vases are frozen, I told her someone must have been playing with the tstat, she disagrees and yells my ear off, so I replaced it anyway (cheapo johnson control) and made a list of all the other problems I seen with the box ( low charge, blowers falling apart, leaking king valve). I told her I refuse to do any repairs for her, just that t-stat to make her happy, but call someone else. She starts hinting around that I'm getting my ass sued for her inventory, and that this happened 2 weeks ago too, her insurance paid her for that time, but doesnt want to pay this time. I never got a call last week , how the hell is this my problem?

That woman is unstable in all her ways!!!
Her real issue is her lack of proper business management practices!
She should know from her associates in other flower shops that she needs to devalope a relationship with a great HVAC/R contractor!
But thus far, she has refused to do that.
She knows her automobile needs periodic maintenance. Thus she knows her other mechanical equipment also needs inspections and periodic maintenance.
She's not stupid, just not a good business person. That's all.
And with her tiraid, she is also off her medication to boot, it would seem.
She lost her product because she failed to have PM inspections.
Her freon level was low, as you pointed out. This is what cost her two loads of product.
Gee ... I wonder if her insurance agent would be interested to know that the claim they just paid out was fraudulent?
Equipment failure due to expressed neglect is probably NOT covered under most policies!!!
Hmmmm.... let her sue. But the next time she phones, ask her for the name and number of the insurance agent she uses.
Tell her you have some information you'd like to pass along to them which is probably quite valuable to them ... hint .... hint....

I am a firm believer all flower boxes should have a backup t-stat, preferably a manual reset.

Please correct me (anyone) if I got this thing wrong. But how did the flowers froze up when the system was low on charge??? were the "blowes falling apart" the reason for them to froze up??

had the same deal, little fella that worked there would prop door open while he worked with the pansies,99cent therm.they had in cooler would read incomeing air temp.,so over to the stat he goes,a couple times a week he forgot to turn it back up before he left work for the day, took stat off wall and placed pr.switch at cond.unit where elton couldnt get at it,no more problems
What she has is icyhot admitting to a stat replacement that may have caused the problem.
Lawyer will ask, if it wasn't bad then why did you replace it? Also... Did you get rid of the cheapo evidence to conceal your rip off scam or are you saving it for your next victim?
May have been better to have hung up on the first scream or left after she raised her voice and let her call her mouth piece. Let them prove neglect after 8 months of perfect operation.
