View Full Version : Compressor vibration analysis
I'm running a vibration analysis on a couple of Carrier's 23XL chillers and need help to find information about bearings especifications, number of lobules of the rotors, internal(exploded) views, etc. I've tried Carrier sites without sucess. Does anyone have such information? Thanks in advance.

last week i installed a rebuilt 23xl compressor last week that was rebuilt by carrier national service in houston. i checked the compressor end and i got .04" sec just about any where i checked except the motor end there i got .06" sec. this was on a 200 ton unit. these readings were with all new bearings. i am using these readings for a base for this machine.
Many thanks Freonrick. The machines I'm working on are, also, 200 ton units. I'll use those parameters as a baseline for the overall vibration level. But, in order to identify more precisely which component is causing any increase in those vibration levels, I need more information about that compressor (bearings especifications, rotors and so on).

you could use those numbers as a reference, but the idea heree is to establish a baseline for a particular machine right? compare your results with those published but use your actual for a baseline. as far as the exploded views, ill bet someone here will offer them soon.

tolerances are key and critical no two machines are perfectly identical you should measure for yourself and establish abaseline for that particular machine
