I would like to know if anyone has had a problem with the York screw compressors in the YCAS0130EC46 chiller. I recently had one go bad due to what appear to be caused by an internal failure.

To answer the question, no, I haven't had any trouble with loosing compressors on those machines. I would like to know what you mean by "internal failure". Was it electrical? Was it mechanical? Both? Is the factory involved? What did they say or do? The more info. the better. You may have the problem solved but I'm sure that most of us would like to know a little more, maybe there is somthing to be learned here.

only had one and symptoms were very odd it would trip on lo amps contactor would pull in all legs of power o.k. it was very quiet we all know no such thing as a quiet screw guessing rotor was turning but screws were not dont know if there is an internal coupling between rotor and male screw or if shaft just broke.

compressor failures are due to mainly refrigerant system problems. usually theres a problem and system is overcharged
to compensate. stop the flood and stop the problem usually.
