While purchasing media filters I noticed advertising for Air Filter Gage. It supposedly senses pressure conditions in the blower compartment and provide a visual indication of when a filter needs to be replaced. Does it work and is there any downside? Thanks.

If it's the G99,or something like that ,it's good,no more the .4 static, and can be tricky to install in the right place. The install depends on your setup, filter location etc.,tell us more,or post a picture.

Thanks for your response. The media air filter is located just before the blower compartment. There is a small space between the filter and blower. The directions state to drill a small hole on a vertical surface between the filter and blower and mount the guage in a level position on the outside with the pressure sensing tube projecting into the blower compartment.

G99 Anybody got a www reference for that?

I always contemplated fixed installation of a Magnahelic, but there not that cheep. A Photohelic could be used to send back an "L" signal to the stat. That would be fun, but cost as much as two cases of filters.
