Ricky- had to go back through some of your posts to see if you were drinking or had a misconception.... I'll go with misconception. We are about 90% LON.

Mostly low level stuff (no plugins). Their Wifi stuff looks interesting.
Engenuity was pushing them hard 4-5 years ago.
So I think they have been around for a while, which may be a good thing.
If the purpose is to monitor high point count especially DIs then there may be better alternatives.

Have not used any of csimn's products yet, but seriously thinking about trying their wifi.

Oops, sorry sysint, I was thinking about your hatered toward Trane's "boat anchor" BCU and got confused. My apologies. By the way, just got a contract with all Automated Logic controls........It's my first experience with them, very open based programming......truly the definition of Non-proprietary.

Except that you can't use your "open based" programming to program some other manufacturers BACnet device. Or, the fact they need to make a gateway to some of their own older stuff. (which happened recently with us)Or, that you can't run other Bacnet VAV's with their VAV controller... simply "talking" on a LAN doesn't make you interoperable and non-proprietary.

If ALC is so open, I should be able to download that open programming for free, like plugins in Lonworks. Where can I download ALC non-proprietary free stuff?

BTW -That boat anchor will disappear soon. They even view it as a liability. Talk to them. They will tell you the same thing.

I think Ricky is either joking or drinking again.

CSIMN.com has been around for a while. They recently released a line of LonMark products the Babel Buster and Addme II. The Babel Buster is a fully configurable universal LonWorks to Modbus RTU gateway. The Addme II is a universal LonWorks I/O node with fully configurable NV types. Has anyone checked out these products?

Out of curiosity.......do you pay for anything!!! LOL [/B]Credits.

As little as possible in regards to software.

The intent of the statement wasn't Controllers, but plugins (software)... So, if I had an ALC controller are any of it's programming tools free like plugins?

If you are getting free plugins a commissioning credit of $1.50 a device isn't outrageous. A 100 node job is $150.00. How much does the ALC package cost onsite? Or Rover?

Yep, Credits are cheap when you really think about it.

Now... If I could just get my hands on LonMaker without forking over the dough first, and maybe finding out that I don't like it.

Echelon said they would have their trial version back up to date with the new Visio and will be able to send it out again, but thats not for another 6 months. I have like 2 weeks left to make a decision on who I am going with. ie: LonMaker/iLon100, or Tridium. Geez...
