Hello,

I need someone to install a 10,200 BTU Samsung Window Air Conditioner.
I bought it used from someone, and am missing some minor parts (which
altogether would cost <$5 at Home Depot), such as window gaskets/seals
to keep out flies, the security bracket to prevent the window from
opening, as well as a few screws. I was wondering how much it would
cost to install the AC and provide the missing parts. The chassis
removes from the cabinet, so it'll be an easy install (should take
less than an hour). In fact, it's so easy that I would do it myself,
but I don't want to take even a remote chance of the A/C falling and
hurting someone.

I'm e-mailing several air conditioner installers and will go with the
person with the lowest price. I'm looking to spend a maximum of $50,
and I live on Lexington in the 40's.

I guess that's why I don't do window units!

Maybe since there's such a huge profit I should reconsider!

a USED window shaker? I didn't even know that there was a market for such a thing, let alone people who would buy one. He probably paid more for that used heap on E-bay than what you could get it new and he probably thinks he got a great deal on it.

about the support brackets - since when did it become a law in NYC? Almost every window AC installed in my apartment building does not
have brackets. I also see many other apartment buildings with ACs

I bet he wants to hire the other guy and then use what you tell him to hang the other guy for improperly installing it. There's a job he'll regret.

just a side note, this area of town is all high rise buildings. He found someone to dangle a 50 pound piece of scrap metal over the pedestrians on the sidewalk. Someone should put up a sign "the sky is falling".

Investment Company telling you how long it should take to install.
