Bryant Furnace inducer motor question:
model 352AAV048080, serial number 4905A044560
problem: inducer motor vibrates and rumbles at low speeds.
3 new inducer motors have been installed on my furnace since purchased on 4/13/2006. All under warranty(parts and labor for 10 years). That's the best part!
My question is: I've seen other people asking about this model and same problem- how can this be the answer to just put a new inducer motor in at a cost of approx. $$$$ per unit? What happens after 10 years are up- I know the answer to that!
The last tech told me he called Bryant tech service and was told to put a new motor in after checking the fallowing, gas manifold pressure, exhaust pipe length and number of elbows.
help-thanks,

I would think the problem would be how it was vented; i. e. the (total) PVC

I went to a house to bid on replacing a 8 or 10 yr. old Carrier 'Plus 90' furnace.
The lady said it must be a lemon, lots of service calls and nobody can find the ongoing problems.
I asked who was doing the service work and she said a "number" of differant companies.
Now, I'm just a dumb salesman, but I do know about proper (direct vent)termination.
Because I noticed the deck when I got to the house, and while in the basement I noticed the direction the PVC ran, I went outside to see how it was terminated.
Sure enough, the PVC was under the deck and the venting was being drawn back into the comb. air.
This would only occure depending on the wind direction, etc.
I told her that the furnace wasn't junk, that maybe she needed to find a company that knew how to install and service them properly.

The total pvc pipe length was checked. (exhaust pipe length and number of elbows.) Bryant tech showed me the table of total pvc pipe and what factor to multiply for each 90 degree elbow. It was within specs.(close, but within factory specs)
Thanks for the reply George2

Are the elbows tight radius or long radius?
What size furnace is it and what is the lenght of the
PVC (one leg)? How many elbows or
45s?
Where does it terminate outside? To the north? In a corner?

George2,
Furnace size: from the model # 80,000 btu
pipe length : 16 ft. , 2 1/2" dia. (per leg)
90 elbows: 6
45s : 4
none are long radius
terminates facing west-not in a corner area and no obstructions in the area.
(remember all this was checked and I assume approved ok by Bryant in order to supply the free warranty parts to my local service company) By the way, the replacement part number of the inducer motor is 32058-762.
Thanks,George2

Bryant area Rep. from Bryant TEC service, installed a disk in the outside air intake pipe. He said it would cause proper air turbulence into the inducer motor and burner area. It seems to have worked!!! He said there were no disks originally in the pipe-hmmm. Wonder why not.
3 visits and 3 replaced inducer motor assemblies later by my local installer.
I'm just happy it's is fixed.

I have the same problem. What is this disk that was installed?

Don't know the name of the part.
Description, it's a stainless steel disk installed in the intake side of the burner area to increase air flow turbulence and to reduce burner pulsing noise. (problem was not from the inducer motor)
Good luck.

Just a quick question, did anybody look at the heat exch on your furn?that furn is known for cracks, not that, that would contribute to the noise problem, and this disc, are you talking about an oriface(restricter plate)for the inducer motor?
