filter driers

My understanding is that a LL drier should be installed if you open the system for repair. I just read in the "tips" section that you should CUT out an old drier, not un-braze. What other specific situations should you always install a filter drier. When/why would you install a SL drier

True.

SL drier on a burnout for acid removal and to catch any debris before it enters the new compressor!

BTW, always make sure you install it in the correct position! :D

First and Foremost Any Moisture that is contained in that drier will be released into the system.

And unless you are running Nitrogen thru the system whilst doing this,That is using your torch, you can then perhaps foul your system with carbon deposits.

In my field, you don't see any brazed driers. None.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm sure you'll be seeing more of my questions as the cooling season gets into full swing.
