Ran a call this early am and found the intake and inducer full of ice...improper intake piping with a booster fan inline to compensate for inadequate size of pipe ...intake defrosted and but not corrected yet and unit running, but I noticed that the exhaust flue was leaking around the 3" insulation. I peeled it away and found steel double wall piping into an insulated square duct which is the common vent with a cat I hot water heater with a draft booster tapped into it. This all terminates into a masonry chimney. I would expect this boiler to be vented on its own with stainless steel vent piping. What type of vent pipe should be used for this condensing boiler?

condensing boilers usually need al29-4c vent pipe and if its positive pressure needs to be vented on its own. those r the codes in canada.
