Hello all, and thank you for your time.

The other tech at my shop just called me and asked me about an issue he is out on right now. He is working on a Carrier furnace, model: 58mvp120f120.

The original issue was a water damaged circuit board (not sending 120v to the fan module), after the board was replaced he found a bad motor module and that has been ordered for replacement. But we are attempting to get the homeowner temporary heat. I have in the past wired in a normal motor to get heat for a day or two while I wait on parts (on other brads of furnaces, not a carrier). Not wiring it through the board as not to accidentally run to many amps through it. I had him do this, and now the furnace has no issues moving the heat (was tripping on limits before), but the board will drop off the gas valve and throw a code "44". I was told it is something with the ECM not sending a signal to the main circuit board with the proper fan CFM.

I guess my question is, is there any way to override the board to tell it to stay on, or that it is getting the proper CFM rating? Or is the homeowner just out of luck until we get the new ECM in and replace it?

Thanks.

Also I just realized this may not be the proper location for this question to be posted, if it needs to be moved or deleted I understand.

But if the question can be answered in a PM that would be OK with me too. and if someone is kind enough to PM me I can even give you my professional info, as I am not a DIY, well I do actually do this stuff myself, but it always ends with people paying me to do it. :)

Thank you.

Only Pro members have PM ability, so no one can PM you.

Myself. I don't know the answer to your question.

ah, ok. thank you for the reply. I'll stick around and get the post count up and then apply for the pro membership, then ask it in the appropriate area.
