View Full Version : Mitsu Fan
M/N PU18EK - old 22 unit
Does anyone know for sure if the condenser fan motor on this suitcase Modulates?
P8 code, checked everything and all I see is the condenser fan always @ 100%
Ambient air can get cold at night in this space so I figure the fan might be the problem
Thanks guys

I just came across the same model with the p8 code. It was intermitten though. Tech support gave me a web adress with the troubleshooting guidelines they use when on phone with techs. If none post the web link before me i'll go grab it out of the van. I know my cfm modulated.

Yes they do, in the hunt for a specific temperature at a certain point inside the condenser.
Thanks, That is my problem then.

Had tons of trouble with codes on a perfectly charged Mitsu with no problems other than the sensors and circuit board.
After replacement of a circuit board that took 6 months to arrive and costed a pound of gold the problem occurred in another one right by this one.
To eliminate future problems I yanked all the electronic crap out of it and rewired it my way. Its been a long time and no problems since.

yes the fan should modulate. I have this problem along with many others from these mitsu slims. Tech supports answer is always to replace the circuit board. I don't always agree.

Replaced board, contactor, sensors, added time delay, hard start kit. o-load, recharged per mfg specs, replaced control wire, tightened all wires.
Still P-8 code once in awhile
New system arrives for Monday install!
