I'm wiring a trane 10 ton rtu with a programmable zone sensor(four arrows and a button) and a remote relative humidty/temperature sensor combo. Programmable zone sensor mounted in the managers office and remote on the sales floor. Could anyone tell me if I have to run the relative humidity portion to the rtu(RTRM) and the temperature sensor to the programmable zone sensor (S1,S2) or can I terminate both the at the rtu(RTRM)?

What kind of programmable stat is it. It may be easier to wire the sensors to the stat and wire the stat to the convential terminals on the unit.

Thanks for the help, the stat no. is X39641111-01A. It has terminals 7,8,9,10,11,12,14,S1,S2,A1,A2,A3. I think the humidity sensor is wired to the rtu at 18 and 19 at the NLTB but I'm not sure where to wire the temperature sensor. I think it should be wired back to the stat at S1,S2 (in the managers office) but would be easier to run both back to the rtu.

Hi Western,
The remote zone temperature sensor must be wired to the sensor terminals (S1, S2) on your programmable thermostat. The humidity sensor for the dehumidification option is wired to the RTU LTB.
Make sure you change the setup of the thermostat for a remote zone sensor.
Good luck,

thanks that pretty much answered my question.
